Thresholds
Thresholds (Settings > Entities > Thresholds) are job price bands that control the payment schedule. When a customer accepts a quote, the system looks up the band the job price falls into and splits the job into that many progress invoices, plus a deposit and a practical completion payment. Accounts and management maintain these bands.

What you see
Section titled “What you see”| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Min Price | Bottom of the band in dollars. |
| Max Price | Top of the band in dollars. |
| Number of Invoices to Split Job Into | How many progress invoices are generated for a job priced in this band. |
The seeded bands are $0 to $3,300 with 1 progress payment, $3,300 to $20,000 with 2, and $20,000 to $9,999,999.99 with 4. Click a row to edit it.

How it works behind the scenes
Section titled “How it works behind the scenes”Building the payment schedule
Section titled “Building the payment schedule”When a proposal is accepted the job price decides the schedule:
- Up to $3,300. One invoice for the full amount. No threshold lookup is made.
- Over $3,300. The system finds the band containing the job price and generates:
- a Deposit of 10% of the price, or 5% when the price is over $20,000;
- the band’s number of progress invoices, sharing the remainder (the price less two deposits) equally, each labelled with the cumulative percentage completed, for example “45% progress”;
- a final Practical Completion invoice equal to the deposit.
The generated invoices start life as suggested invoices for accounts to review. See Suggested Invoices and Scheduled Invoices. Progress amounts are shaved by a fraction of a percent so no two invoices are identical, with the last one absorbing the difference.
On the proposal
Section titled “On the proposal”The same rules produce the repayment schedule the customer sees on the proposal and in the iPad payment schedule, so what the customer agrees to matches the invoices later raised. If no band matches the price the proposal falls back to six progress payments, whereas job creation requires a match, so keep the bands continuous.
Tips and gotchas
Section titled “Tips and gotchas”- The $3,300 single-payment cutoff and the $20,000 deposit switch are fixed in the system and are not changed by editing bands here.
- Enter prices in dollars; the system stores cents behind the scenes.
- This page has nothing to do with how quotes are classed as medium or large in the Quotes menus, or with PM visit counts, which live under Visit Thresholds.
- Changing a band affects jobs accepted from then on. Invoices already generated for a job are not rebuilt.
